‘Yuva Sphoorti’ – Youth Programme was conducted in Ramakrishna Math at Mangalore on the 12th January on the occasion of 150th Birthday of Swami Vivekananda according to English Calendar. About 750 delegates participated in the half day event where in resource persons shared their views on Swamiji and his message to the youths. All the delegates were given snacks, lunch and complementary booklet along with an inspiring poster of Swami Vivekananda.

Tulu book released on Swami Vivekananda’s life and message

Ashrama released a book on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The book is translated by Sri Arya Laxminarayan Alva. To reach out to more and more students the Central Govt. has subsidized the booklet.

On the 18th December the book was released in a solemn function at the hands of Dr. N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte University. Sri Ramesh Kedilaya, Retired lecturer, Mangalore introduced the book to the audience. Swami Jitakamanandaji presided the meeting and Swami Sureshanandaji graced the occasion with his presence. Some newly brought out posters were also released during the event. All the participants were distributed released booklet free of cost.

The releasing function was followed by Bharatanatya Janapada Nritya Vaibhava by Natyanjali Nritya Academy, Surathkal directed by Vidwan Sri Chandrashekar Navada.

Yakshotsava on the occasion of 175th Birth Anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna

On the occasion of 175th Birth Anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna, Ashrama had conducted “Yakshotsava“, cultural programme on the 10th, 11th and 17th December.

On the 10th & 11th December Yakshagana was performed by professional artistes from 2.30 to 8.30 pm. About 1200 people attended the performance inclusive of both the days.

On the 17th the Yakshagana was performed by Saligrama Makkala Mela artistes. The whole event was telecast live on local TV channels.

Foundation stone for the new bathroom-toilet – drying yard building for our free hostel , Balakashrama, was laid by Swami Sureshanandaji Maharaj, Senior monk of the Ramakrishna Order on the 17th December at about 12 noon, on the auspicious occasion of birthday of Sri Sharadadevi.

Many devotees and well wishers of our Ashrama attended the function and witnessed the event.
